At a recent Community Council meeting, FreeGeek Chicago has decided to offer all volunteers completeing the 24-hour Earn-A-Box program a $75.00 credit for anything in the FreeGeek thrift store.  This includes full desktop systems starting at $40.00, laptops starting at $75.00, LCD monitors, etc.  Volunteers can still build out their own desktop from barebones systems and any of our system parts; we'll price it and take $75.00 off.  Community members believe that this will be a more fair system for volunteers, will offer volunteers more flexibility in what they can take home, and will be easier to track.
