Any computer equipment, working or not, can be donated to FreeGeek Chicago; we will repair and reuse what we can. Non-functional computers and scrap will be recycled responsibly. Please see the guidelines for equipment donations.

Computers that are deemed obsolete or broken are demanufactured and separated into their basic components. Working components are then separated as working and non-working. Scrap metal and plastic are separated from all nonworking components and taken by local scrap recyclers. All other nonworking components are shipped to Supply-chain Services, Inc. for environmentally responsible processing.
